Description
Celery salt consists of salt milled down with celery seeds. The result is a salt that has celery-focused center of gravity. The salt brings out the vegetal flavor of the seeds making them taste more like celery than they would on their own.
Celery seeds have levels of sodium nitrate in them that, when combined with sea salt makes for, well… and extra salty salt. Sodium nitrate, however, is very valuable in preserving and curing meats. Next time you plan to dry cure some homemade sausages, be sure to add a pinch of our celery salt or a big bang of vegetal-salty flavor.
